27 August 2008 congratulations lucy By Catherine Owens @ 05:44 :: 452 Views   Lucy and MOVIE STAR are the YOUNG RIDER NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!! after a bit of a lazy start as lucy put it she then went on to produced an amazing finish, I am a proud friend she has worked so hard for this she won last year on a horse called Goldwings but just when she thought she might of had a possible place on the young rider team he was sold to america, she was devasted but she had the ride on tango, kept her head down and worked really hard a few dissapointments along the way she was not selected with tango for the team, But she came back to produce this amazing result, two years running on two VERY different horses just shows you what a lot of hard work and determination can achieve, for every high there are a lot of lows horses are very humbling just when you think you have got everything right they prove you wrong, every inch of effort will be redeemed just stick with it! Mean while there has been a few new arrivals at oaklebrook barn owls who flew off just after being put in thier boxes! some new supermodels have arrived but they look far from super right now still it only takes a few weeks for them to grow more feathers and my favorite the ducks, they are hilarious every day american catherine parks her car near the sheds and every day the ducks waddle up to the car to admire thier reflections and peck at the side of the car whilst merrily chatting away to each other,In the middle of our walker is a small pond, so in one of my more intelligent moments i thought we could put them in! i persuaded Carl and Dan to catch them carry them a cross the yard and put them in they love it!!although the ponies wernt to keen on the white monsters in the walker the first time they went on it but know peace has been restored and every body is happy! We are competing at the breeding show this weekened Carl will be riding MOVIE STAR and BEING BLING a bump down to earth for lucy she will be on her own WATERLOO her young horse and Charlotte on VALEGRO, WINSTON BOND was due to compete and NIP TUCK but due to a shortage of lorry space the babies will have to stay at home, so hopefully we will see you all there!! take care Catherine
