Super Model. One of the original rescue battery hens, they have all played havoc with the garden and come madly flapping when Carl calls.

Fancy Chicken! Not content with the Super Models Carl has now introduced some glamour models to the growing menagerie!

Snowy
Snowy, the Umbrella Cockatoo, is a recent arrival who lives in a purpose built aviary and keeps an eye on all the comings and goings from the school to the stables, he gets lots of attention from everyone.He sits on a perch in the indoor school next to Carl while he teaches.

Charlotte Dujardin

Charlotte DujardinCharlotte has trained and worked for Carl for since February 2007. She left school at the age of 16 and after achieving much success pony showing – including winning the Horse of the Year Show four times and Hickstead three times – she went to work for Judy Harvey for four years. At the beginning of 2007 she came to Carl for some lessons and he asked her to help out for 10 days and she never left after that.

Charlotte has also achieved a great deal with her own horse Fernandez, he was reserve Advanced Medium Champion in 2007.

Charlotte currently competes Carl and Roly Luard's Valegro and Super Nova 11 plus Carl and Ann Cory's Don Archie.

On her days off Charlotte admits to enjoying a lot of sleeping plus socializing when she gets a chance.

 

Katie Bailey

Katie joined the team in June 2009. She is 21 years old and before working with Carl, previously worked for her father followed by 6 months at Talland where she attained her PTT and Stage 4 exams.

Katie enjoyed many successes at Junior FEI Level and has represented Great Britain in no less than 13 Internationals, including the Europeans in 2005 and 2006.

Katie currently rides some of the young horses on the yard and will be competing Carl and Clare Crocker's Chocolate Orange in young horse classes. Katie shares the ride on Don Archie and will compete him at Elementary this year. 

In her free time she enjoys sleeping, shopping and seeing friends when given the chance!

 

Claudine Bichard

Claudine Bichard

Claudine has worked as Carl’s personal assistant for the last six years.  Originally from Jersey, Claudine left the Island in 2000 to work on his yard.

Now a mum of two young boys she juggles raising her family with running Carl's office. Claudine makes sure all correspondence is answered, entries done, travel arrangements made, passports up to date, paying the bills and everything else involved in the behind the scenes running of the yard. 

 

Olivia Oakeley

Olivia originally came for two weeks training in July 2009 and was lucky enough to be asked to stay on as his working pupil.

At the age of 12, Olivia represented Great Britain in Holland on her pony, May Frizzante. She has also qualified twice for the National Championships at Elementary and Medium Levels.  Olivia has produced her current horse, Donna Summer, herself and now bases the horse at Carls with the intention of competing at the Junior Championships this year.

 

Fiona Lawrence

Fiona LawrenceFiona joined the team in February 2008 for the Sunshine Tour in Spain and has not looked back since.

Fiona has worked with horses since leaving school and used to do a lot of hunting and Team Chasing. She also carried out stud work for Willie Carson.

At the end of 2009 Fiona took over as yard manager and is enjoying the challenge of keeping one of the most succesful yards in the country running smoothly.........

In her spare time she enjoys catching up with friends.

 

Dexter

Dexter

Bred by Kate Carter (by accident), Dexter's dad is a Rottweiler and mum a tiny Jack Russell. He made it into the national papers and appeared on breakfast TV as a puppy. Now 10 years old and a much loved character.

 

 

The Supermodels

Supermodels!!!

They certainly weren't supermodels when they arrived, these rescued battery hens are now strutting their stuff around the yard and garden and laying eggs again.

Bonnie

Named after famous gangsters these cats have their eye on the chickens not bank rolls! They have quickly become yard favourites.
